Marietta NDT designs and manufactures a standard series of immersion tanks from small to large applications.
Our small IT series tanks are designed to meet the needs of test parts up to 24" diameter and 50 pounds. Customers may choose either acrylic or stainless steel water tanks as required for the application. Frames are constructed from high quality extruded aluminum with integrated linear slide assemblies. Optional rotary tables may be provided as a drop-in or permanently mounted into tanks.
Our large IT series tanks are designed to withstand the tough environment of heavy duty industrial production. Water tanks are fabricated from heavy gauge stainless steel and are independently supported from the scanner manipulator. The free-standing scanning manipulator frame is not affected by variations from the water tank. This provides more accurate and repeatable scan data. Frames are constructed of heavy gauge steel and are secured to the floor with epoxy-set anchors. The rotary table for our large IT tanks utilizes a precision Kaydon slewing ring bearing assembly. Our unique design allows us to drive our rotary table outside the tank eliminating the problems associated with in-tank gearboxes.
Additional Features:
- May be integrated with pulse echo or phased array transducers
- Dual cable carriers are used on our larger systems to reduce RF noise and ensure high signal to noise ratios
- Linear rails have stainless cover strips over all mounting holes which prevent dust and debris from entering guide bearings and causing premature wearing
- Bosch Rexroth servo motors provide high performance and long life.
- Standard frame sizes chosen for part availability.
- Wittenstein gearboxes for precision and long life. Standard sizes for part availability
- Optional horizontal rotation manipulator for tube and heavy shaft inspections
